    Frunk is stuck closed

I’ve been having trouble with the frunk latch coming open on my 1973.5 T targa. I tried adjusting the latch all the way to the outside (pushed out toward the front of the car, and now after closing it, I can’t get it back open. Oops. Any thoughts on remedies?

And to be clear, it’s not stuck in the fully latched position. The back side of the hook is stuck.

Here are numerous threads on the trunk latch, and it is also spelled out in the workshop manual. There is an organized procedure that must be followed, you can't just move things around.

    Thanks for the helpful reference.
Loosen the set screw on the cable, insert a pin punch in the hole to the right of the hood pin hole, now pull cable towards passenger side while pushing latch towards driver side, tighten set screw, remove pin and check operation before closing hood. When cable is released sliding latch should cover half of hood post hole, when cable is pulled sliding latch should uncover hole.

I can’t even get at the set screw since I can’t get the hood open. When I pull the cable, it pops up about a millimeter, but no further. I’ve tried rocking the hood and yanking.

Pull the release to its full extension, lock a set of vice grips on it, so it stays fully open. Go to one corner of the hood and try lifting. Hopefully the twisting moving will see it open.

Push down on the hood while a helper pulls the release. While pressing downward try pushing the lid to the left as you are facing the rear of the car.
