Information on inner rockers and heater tubes?

It looks like I'll be replacing both inner and outer rockers on my '68 project. The inner rockers are not terrible, but the heater tubes appear to be garbage. I am supposing that a proper restoration requires dealing with the heater tubes, but I'm open to the input of the community.

Once the inner rockers are removed, where does one find heater tube replacements, and what is the proper installation?

I've searched the tech forum without any luck, but that's not to say that I performed the search properly.

    Thank you all, again.

I bought a nos set from Parts obsolete ( Gary Emory ) in Oregon.I also bought some other nos parts & did a will-call @ his McMinnville shop...This was in about 2001. Cannot remember the price, but I was a repeat customer from his California days, just as he was in the process of moving up there! The prices `were good`at the time.....Cliff

Very interesting! At what point did the factory switch to the paper mufflers?

I went back out and looked at mine (still inside the inner rocker). Mine look nothing like the ones in the photo. They appear to have a fiberglass wrapping.

i have a 68S and mine are identical ,and they are a bits to change, mine were rusted ( its a rarity with those car LOL)

got mine from a donor car , they are very hard to remove, there is 3 or 4 very think spot weld along the inner rocker , and then you have to grind the outlet without losing the shape of it , then reweld and gind and reweld to give the factory finish

    have fun

Does anyone make reproduction inner rockers that are exact ? I was told a few years ago that there are only exact starting at a certain year....not early. I believe a dimple/contour either missing or present that is not applicable on early cars
