    We put 205/60s (shorter & wider than 195/65s) on Tom's SWB with 15mm B2B without fender mods. I just haven't had an excuse to try 215/60s.
    We have also put 225/50s with 12mm but they were a little tougher to fit (rolling & grinding).

    Crap!!!! my worst fears buy tires from England and they don't fit, and to make it even worse they tell me the tires that will fit are unavailable. The 26/61 fit the rear, but the 23/62s do not fit the front they rub the front bumper when the wheel is turned. It looks like the 18/60 will fit but who knows when they will be available again??? On the bright side I now have four rear tires.

    Does the 23/62 fit on the front? Which wheels - 15x8 and 15x9, standard offsets?

    Got it, well, armchair quarterbacking, but . . .why would you run 26/61 in front again? Its Michelin recommendation is a 9.5-11" wheel, Harvey's recommendation would probably be that tire should be on a 12" wheel. . .and you have a 9? Did you try the 23/62 on the 9" on the front? You might have a fighting chance with that. The front of the fender is where the wheels will hit , with deep dish wheels , due to the scrub radius and the fender not being 'oblonged' (notice the 73RSR has very oblong front fender openings)

    A little confused here? "The 23/62 (270) fit the rear, but the 26/61s (295) do not fit the front they rub the front bumper when the wheel is turned." Were you trying to fit the 295's on the front, and the 270's on the rear? I put a link to the Michelin TB rim size in a earlier post. The 26/61 (295) fits a rim size from 10-11.5". It would fit a 12", but I found a 12" rim wouldn't fit under my rear fender. The 23/62 (270) fit a rim size from 8.5-10.5. This would also fit a 11" rim and would also take some of the height out.

    This is my combination for 9" and 11's, 18/60 (215/55) for the front and 26/61 (295/40) rears.

    [QUOTE=Mike_Moore;527209]This is my combination for 9" and 11's, 18/60 (215/55) for the front and 26/61 (295/40) rears.

    That's exactly the size I need, except they don't have them.

    Apologies for the confusion, it was very early when I got the email from Longstone. what I meant to say was that, while both the 23/62, and the 26/61 will fit the 10 in rims in the back, the 23/62 are to big for the 9in in front. Perhaps the reason they recommended this combination is because the 18/60 were not available.

    Being in this situation of having a car with a blown tire, and no options has got me thinking. I need a pack up plan. The Hoosiers are terrible in the rain and I don't think the TB5s are going to be a huge improvement. I'm thinking that I should have a spare set of 16 wheels like 944 Turbo Fuchs in 7 and 8 inches,
    or better yet 8 and 8 with spacers with tires that can handle some rain. Any thoughts??

    I'd go with 9&11 x 17's for better tire choices. Not much of a fat tire selection in 16's. Or, 8 & 9 x 16's. Since your running fat front fenders you don't need the 944 turbo 8's. I run 11x17's w/315 rears and 9x17 w/255 fronts when not on the Michelins.
