    Door chrome strip SWB - fitting question

    Hi,

    today the door frames, rear side windows and chrome stripes have been mounted to my project to check fitting before the painter will start to do his job.

    But now it look strange somehow. The door chrome stripe does not have the same size as the stripe below the rear side window. I have not seen this before, but I do not know what is wrong. The only thing I could think of is that the door chrome stripe has been rechromed already and maybe the chrome shop has grinded the brass.

    At end it measures a littel less than 19,8mm. Is this the correct measurement or has it been changed and is wrong? It's the heavy brass chrome stripe 1964/65.

    Hi Mark,
    Just a reference point from a Nov'66 build 911. Chrome door strip (also of the heavy brass variety) measured 18.7mm, with original chrome finish. Picture of fit included below...

    Can either piece be pushed in or out to align the strips better?

    Of course if your strips are ground down, you'll need new ones to line things up.
