    Paint or no paint

Is the cooling fan and the shroud painted on a 72S? If so was the factory color silver? Thanks Charlie

The fan is just supposed to be bare Magnesium. All the Magnesium treatments I have seen are chromate or similar conversion coatings that make a brownish, blackish, or greenish color. All fans are silvery/gray so they must be bare Magnesium. Some people polish them and treat them with Gibbs oil to delay the oxidation.
