Okay guys, rip me a new one.

Years ago I bought a '67 912. I did a mild restoration on that car and really enojyed it as my first Porsche experience. I sold the car to gather funds for a '69T. I did a ground up on the '69T and loved the experience of crawling under the car and having grease and sh*t up to my elbows day after day. I finished that car and sold it to a buyer in Germany. I got every penny of of it that I put in. Nothing more, nothing less.
I split with me ex-wife and she got my '85.5 944. I bought a freakin' Mustang to give me SOMETHING to work on. I hated that car. What a turd. I waited and finally pitched the pony car. I looked and looked for "the car I always wanted", a '67S! I bought it at either the right time or the WRONG time depending on how you look at it. I wanted to build a fun club "driver." As I began, the value of the car began to climb and climb. I decided to build a show car vs. a racer/driver. FOLKS, I knew NOTHING about these cars. I gained EVERYTHING from all of you. I read this board, bought parts and went to work. I made mistakes. I paid too much. I second guessed myself all the way through. I did the best I could. I showed the car for two years and received numerous awards. I teasure each and every one of those awards because I am PROUD of the work I put into the car. I sold the car because I was tired of stressing over the care of a concours car. I was wound up tighter than a drum every time I showed the car. I sold the car for a price that reflected the value of the car "as is." I hated to see her go. I saw the car come up for auction and all I could think was "God I hope he makes a million on that car." She was beautiful. She was/is an honest representation of a '67S and it was beyond belief to see her cross the auction block under the bright lights and excitement at Pebble Beach. You can question my build and my intentions, but you cannot question my love for these cars or my respect for the people on this board who helped me make it happen. I am NOT an "expert" on early 911s! I built the best car I could from what I could find and with the money I had. I'm proud of that car!

Call me if I can help you with you build. I am not an expert but, I will share with you EVERYTHING that those one this board have shared with me over the last 7 years.!

    One word: Why?

I read nothing here that makes you worthy of having one ripped but much that is commendable. You lived, you learned, you felt pain but in the end joy. What more can anyone really ask out of an old car experience?

    Thanks for sharing.
