Thread: Engine case dimensions ?

    Engine case dimensions ?

    Hi,
I'm about to drill bigger holes for cylinders in my 2.4 S engine case.
    I've got 6 cylinders+pistons from a 2.7l and i want to install them.

My problem is that i've destroyed my 2.4l cylinders and i don't know what is the tolerance between the engine case and the cylinder.

So is there anyboy knowing the diameter of the engine case holes for a 2.7l ?

    Rgds.

From memory, the 2.7 cylinder spigots should be 97 mm. The 2.4 cylinder spigots are 92 mm.

I hope someone with reference books can confirm.

    Good luck.

    Thks BERT for this reply.
    97mm is ok.
But Tolerance for the engine case ? +/- ?

I think the dimension is 97,2 +/-0,05 but not sure ?

Sorry. I don't have a spec book for the 2.7 engines.
