    Transportation OR to New England

Anyone moving a car from Northern CA/OR to the Northeast? or

Any recommendations for a car transporter (will try Intercity)? Anyone had experience with DAS?

    Thanks in advance

    I've done it very recently...

Intercity was a little more expensive but I was gonna try them, except they could not pick up my car within 15 days of my phone call. Ugh... Also having to fax them a credit card authorization was a little archaic !

I went with "Reliable" instead, orange carriers advertising in SCM or Hemmings, $200 cheaper or so, all done online and over the phone, very good customer service, also a good reputation and....immediate pickup. On time, the driver took good care of the car. Statistical sample = 1 ;-)

DAS: people have horror stories. I've used them on modern(ish) cars with no issues at all, depot to depot was cheapest by far. I even used them on a 57 356A back when they were affordable. Would I use them on a classic 911 nowadays? No. On an SC and above, probably... I used them 4 times, never had an issue myself. Lots of sitting in their parking lots, make sure the car is waterproof, the lack of progress was on tracking could be frustrating when checking status online, but they always met their time limit and never damaged a car for me...

Door to door is best with a classic though.

I'll recommend DeMoise (www.demoise.com) as I've used them successfully for a CA-PA transport. Others here have had success with them but I'd suggest you search on them to confirm.
