My run to Emory's event this summer, the rainiest July day in recorded history, did in my wiper motor. This is a '70, so it's a one-year only motor. I took it apart, and see no obvious problems. I put it back together and it works. Sort of. It still is really weak and slow, and stops occasionally. I think it needs professional attention. Is it possible to have these rebuilt? Does anyone do things like replace the brushes, rewind the armature, etc? My alternative is to source a used replacement, now 41 years old and susceptible to the same issues as the one I have. I could also, perhaps, source a motor from a different year. I'd lose the intermittent feature, but it's never worked anyway. Anyone know of other compatibility issues with motors from different years?
