Looking for an original radio. Not sure if they came in AM or AM/FM in 73'. If they came both ways, would prefer a clean, working AM/FM.

Mike,
The radio original to your car was likely a Blaupunkt Frankfurt. If your car is a US delivery then it was the US model. These radios were AM/FM mono. A working radio that is cosmetically imperfect will run around $400. A working radio that is new in appearance will run roughly twice that. Repairing these radios is not inexpensive and may run $250 or more. If you are chasing originality my best recommendation is to wait and repair the mechanicals in your car before worrying about the "right" radio. When I bought my '73 two years ago I opportunistically picked up a Blaupunkt in an effort to return my car to its original state. I have since sold it to pay for new shocks. My point is that what you believe to be important today may not be tomorrow. If the above is meaningless to you then you might as well drop $750 with these guys.

Their prices are high but they guarantee their radios for life.
Good luck.

Hey Dave,
Thanks for the advice. This helps.
Mike
I just bought a Frankfurt US AM/FM radio for $300, very nice, but lacks the plug in for the speakers. It is a mono type and looks great, I find the original radio adds to your car.
Oh, that picture is the wrong radio for a 1973.5 911T,E,S
It does not have that face plate plus it's chrome not flat black. That is a Frankfurt but not for a period Porsche from 72-73.
Does anyone have the correct pic of the radio/faceplate for a 73.5 T? Thnx
This one is correct for a 1973.5 but is stereo, if you had only the dash speaker it would be the same without stereo on face. My is the same but a mono model.
