Thread: Any Difference Between '67 911 Headrests & 356 Headrests?

  1. #11
I measured a headrest from a 356 (either a B or C) , the posts flex. But they seemed to be about 10.5" - 10 5/8" from post center to post center. Not quite as accurate as measuring the receivers installed on the seat but gives a general idea.

I was just wondering whether John912 ever measured the width of his other headreasts?

Last month I reorganized my parts, now I can't find anything! I've asked friends on the 356 NE site to help out. Will get back soon.

yeah, that concept of "reorganization" seems fundamentally flawed, to me. the same thing happens when i do it.

The more we find out the less we know. Here's what I have from this thread and the 356 NE responses so far:

    356 B 10-1/2"
    356 B or C 10-1.2"
    356 B Cab 10-3/16"
    356 C 10-3/16"
    356 C 10 3/16"
    911 66 10 3/16"
    911 66 10 5/16"

I wonder if they were made by Colgan [flat face on thumbscrew] or were German made [convex thumbscrew face]? Porsche switched to Colgan in the 356 era.

Did the 1967 911S factory installed seat ever have a headrest that inserted into the top of the seatback? like the 1969 style seat with headrests.

Why do you think that? Seems to me that the part number is a 644 which is a 356 part number..., so that indicates the round ones attached on the back of the seat.
