The problem with that seat belts is that they are the same used for 2.7 RS Lightweight.... The price for a NOS pair is VERY high....
    Only for advice....

Would the 'male' end of those seat belts in the first post have been used for the front seat belts in a M471? I thought that receiver would be all metal and attach to the base of the seat.

    Brian,

If you look very careful, the flexible receivers have been shortened by someone and don't really belong to the 1973 dated NOS belts. You had the choice of non-retractable belts with a fixed receiver (and there is as well a difference, one for the standard Recaro seat, the other which has a longer base plate for the Sport seat). The flexible receiver was the other option but I have no idea if those were specifically for the 914/6 or RS LW seat. Then there is the question why have some belts a 914 number, while others a 911 number although the are the same (?)...I heard that when it was original equipment in your 911 it would be 911, 914 if you ordered it later. Would be nice to see some original seat belts in 914's!
BTW, if you check chapter 9 in a '72 or 72/73 parts manual then you will find a mine field of seat belt parts, complete set ups, individual items etc. Very interesting...
Back to the first question, yes a US delivered car had black only webbing and RS's were not offered in the US so they should really have the orange stripe in it.

    Best, Cees

Right Cees, I too thought those receivers were too short for use in the M471. The '73 parts book lists the belts for a Sport RS delivered in Germany, Italy, and Austria as a 911 part #, but for all other markets it shows 914 803 013 10 (left) and 914 803 014 10 (right).

    Very interesting and confusing.

the receivers are definitely wrong. they are too short.
about number, the 901 belts was for all 911 except RS73 light, that used the 914/6 ones, with 914 number.
the black 914 seat belts were used only in US during 1970-1971 period. superrare!
after those years all the 914 repas had the yellow stitching.

those are the rarest repas seat belts. the ones with rigid receiver are very common....

i'll post a photo to be more clear.
