Factory Alloy calipers option on Pre- 1974MY , any referance in Factory lit. ?

I was reminded of this in another thread.

Was there really this option , either as part of a group OR by itself ?

I have never been able to find any factory reference to alloy front calipers being either part of M470 ('Appearance group' ) . Or available separately either.

I've asked this one before , no one ever came up with any referances in Factory literature . If it was a reality , then it has to be listed somewhere.

Sportomatics all had them, for one thing. 911E with optional Koni suspension (instead of hydropneumatic) had them I think.

Max, I think you are correct. The Koni struts were all S type I believe, and the Sporto's got them as did the Hydropneumatic. Besides that I think they were optional on other cars. Possibly the S calipers were a 'hidden' option in conjunction with the Koni option. M402 option seems to be one, but I'm not sure what years this one applies to.

My 1972 Sporto 911T, which I bought in approx 1975 did not have them.

Must have been removed by the previous owner before sale, then. The Sportos got them because there was hardly any engine braking with the torque converter.

My 73 T has all of the S Pack trim, guages, sways etc. and it has Koni struts with small brakes. The S brakes were a seperate option.
Both Koni and Boge had both brake bolt patterns. I have never seen Bilstein with the small brakes though.

Interesting, I thought all the Porsche Koni struts had 3.5" bolt spacing.
