    what year bumper is this

I purchased a metal front bumper at the Phoenix Club Swap Meet. I was told it would fit my 1970 911.

What year bumper is this, where I do I find the brackets. I posted a WTB ad in the parts Forum

The bracket in the photo was from the previous fibreglass spoiler bumper. You can see they do not match up.

    Hi Ray,
Sorry, that is a SWB bumper. Much easier to get the right one (69-) than modifying that one. IMHO.

    Thanks Harvey..Nothing is ever simple.

So, I purchase 68 on down brackets that will match up to the bumper horizontally. On the other end, will they match up to the car vertically?

Hate to say this Ray, but even if you got the 68 and earlier bracket, you don't have this welded on flange with the 3 captive nuts for the bracket to bolt to the body. Your car just has the two holes in the inner fender panel for the bolts to go through to the captive nut in the 90 degree bracket. The 68 and earlier bracket is just a bent piece of flat stock that has bolt holes to line up with the three captive nuts in the welded on flange.

Ray, Like Ed shows, it really is easier to get the right one. I know because I have a car here with the bumper modified to fit and it is a mess. Did you already paint and install the trim?
I may be able to find a LWB bumper if you can't find one locally.
    Let me know.

Thank You Ed, Thank You Harvey..

Looks like I now have For Sale a JUST painted black swb front bumper, no deco trim...Or should a post WTT?

All I want to do is put a 1970 front bumper on, no lip/spoiler, have it painted to match my car, and simply replace it for the
fiberglass '72 bumper. Which I will also be putting up for sale...

The smart thing would have just paint the one I have, I know it fits!!!!!!!!!!!

    Thanks AGAIN
