What a great build! It did take a few libations to get through it all! Hope all is well

Yesterday when the car was in for it's first valve adjustment we put the engine on the engine dyno. I have to admit that I was not prepared for the result. The first run showed 236hp at the crank, and subsequent tuning ultimately produced 282.7hp (uncorrected).
That's with the larger crank pulley for overdriving the fan, so I decided to return to the factory set up once the engine comes off the dyno. Needless to say that I'm quite happy with the end result and the engine makes power exactly the way I hoped it would as opposed to a long stroke.
Incredible. Can you give us an idea of what kind of tuning was done to find 45 HP during the session? Was it one big thing that was out of whack or a bunch of minor sdjustments?
You should be stoked. Got a spare gearbox? =)

901 Gearbox + 240hp rear wheel = Bad?
When they did the initial tune in the car, they were tuning to get the progression from idle jets to main jets to be as smooth as possible. Once on the dyno they determined that 145 mains were required with the 46 PMOs and they needed to advance the timing to find maximum power.
Then they played with the air correctors and ultimately dialled back some of the timing and settings to get the motor back to a more long term durable spec. Today when the motor's back in the car they'll determine if the mains play nicely with the idle jets or if they need to tweak the idles for better transition.
From what they've told me most of the power just came from being able to see where the engine was actually happiest and adjusting accordingly. As close as they thought they were, the dyno gave them the hard data to really find where the engine wanted to be.
One thing I love about downtime and holidays is the time afforded to be able to read back through threads such as this, and disappearing down rabbit holes when you re-read about the little mods and inspirations that have occurred along the passage of time ....
Mike, I would love to hear about your driving feedback with the new engine, now that you have had time to assess it, rather like a fine wine or port ....

for a 2.8 short stroke I would think you have 95X 66 set up right?
