Cutoff from 4 hole to 2 hole fender?

I searched but could not find any info. When did the 2 hole fenders show up? My 65 has one 4 hole and one 2 hole. I know Porsche used what they had. My car is a late 65 (number 301976) so i dont know if tbe fender was replaced or if it is original.
    Thanks, Christian
