    Question Is this repairable?

Original aluminum pressure plate out of my 72 S. Two of the three straps that secure the plate to the housing are broken... (and I wondered why it had a slight vibration. )

possibly, but why bother. they're cheap enough. I must have half a dozen, if you need one. Don.

I have had a hard time finding the ALUM. unit most that I found new were steel. Best of luck, get all of that rotating stuff balanced by a trusted shop I recently had to pull my engine to sort out a horrendous flywheel vibration. Steve

oops. my bad. I thought you meant aluminum body. I didn't realize the S used a coated aluminum friction disc.

The disk is steel, but the housing is aluminum. I replaced it with an all steel unit. I did weigh them and the aluminum one is a little better than 3# lighter. Although not a killer, quite significant I would think. That is the reason I was asking. Thanks.
