No word, yet . . . but from the looks of that battery box, looks to be one super-dry car.

    Yup.

    . . . and if I had three wishes --- one of 'em would definitely be X-ray vision . . .

    Here's another one...

that'll make you sick... A '56 1500 GS Carrera Saw this at the Porsche Race Car Class at the Quail...parked amongst all the clean, shiny stuff...

Owned by a member of the DuPont (DuPont Motorcars & Indian Motorcycles) family. Car was casually raced in the '50s and then parked/Stored in a Maryland Barn from '61 - '05.

Original & very unmolested, 16771 TOTAL miles and still has the original (but obviously now worthless) tires still on it. And...you couldn't ask for a more original, perfect interior if you tried. No special preparations were made for the period of storage either - it just sat there, collecting dust.

    It's OK to drool...seriously.

It makes me happy to know that they are still out there.

I'll second that Tom, drive it 'as is'.

These finds are rather rare, normally when someone discovers a car like that, it is in poor condition. I came across a 2.2S a couple of years ago, back in the days they were renovating the floor and because they couldn't move the car, they just poured concrete and the Porsche was stuck with its wheels in concrete...

I'm lucky to get to hang around with some pretty interesting people, friends, car bums (like me) . . . folks who are generous enough to share stuff with me --- cars, bits, stories, pictures, all of it.

Everybody knows what a total kook I am for this kinda stuff.
