    Rennsport reunion

    Hi Guys,
Some Some of you may know that Geoff Morgan, Peter Boylan and I took our 2.7 Carrera group S cars to Monterey last weekend.
because we were 70's cars we were in group 4 , with 18 935's, and the rest mostly
RSR's. Surprisingly we did not win, but everyone was impressed at the performance of our relatively standard cars.
Sensational weekend on a sensational track. Ros Morgan has put some great shots

I forgot to add that Rusty French was in our race with his 935. Some issues mesnt he qualified badly at 23, but came through and won the race in great style. He is a genuine hero in California
    having won many historic races.
Also waving the flag were Ron Goodman and Phil Verwoert in rent -a-drive 356's. Phil did a great job in an unfamiliar bcar on a new track.
Ron was flying and went from 17th to 9th before his gearbox cried enough.

    Hi David,

Congrats on the great results, and thanks for posting the pics.

I spoke to Wayne last night and he mentioned your pit was about a dozen deep after the 2nd race as folk tried to work out how these 'stock' cars were going so quickly.
    Cheers, Ryan

    Hi David,

VERY JEALOUS! Saw Phil the day before he was due to head over and I know he was so excited about driving his first 356! Albeit not his and in another country and on a race track at RR!

Glad to hear your cars went well - tick that one off the bucket list

Will the cars be back in time for Sandown? Hope to see you there.

    Congrats.

I was wondering who those jokers with the G models were out there with the RSRs and 935s.

    Hi Alex,
Unfortunately cars won't be back for Sandown, but we should just make it for Eastern Creek.
I explained to Phil that driving a 356 is not that embarassing, and he did not need to go to another country to do it.

Some wonderful shots evoking plenty of great memories David. I have 17 hours to edit my shots on the flight home from Chicago.

This event was described on Saturday as an orgy of Porsche historic motorsport... and I cannot think of a more apt description.

And congratulations on beating so many 935's and RSR's home!

Many thanks for allowing me to help with various odd jobs over the course of the weekend, and also to feel so welcome in the "Australian Embassy" - made up of ours and Rusty's shipping containers.
