Rennsport IV in car race video. Group 7- PCA Club Racing

Here is the old "Musket 911" having fun with cars much newer, and holding its own.

Here is the Group 7 Sunday race of Porsche's Rennsport Reunion IV (2011). This is the PCA Club Racing group.
Car: 1969 911E 2.5L (210 RWHP) vintage 911ST spec race car. No aero, just mechanical grip. 48 of the 50 cars had aero/wings/spoilers....Not this old Musket.

I qualified 1st in class (GT4S), and 22nd overall out of 50.
Sit back and enjoy the sound.
Fastest lap 1:41.15

    Thanks,

    Chad,

    Great drive!

Funny thing, I too fought the right turns #3, and #4 most of the race. The car simply didn't want to hook-up through them. My 148 RWHP just doesn't cut it when playing with you guys.

Great video. Wasn't sure if you were gonna make it past the tire scrubbing lap

I really enjoyed watching the early 911's going around #4 ( from the outside of the turn looking down the straight to 5 )
Of all the cars those looked like they were having the most fun - some ( most ) looked like they would not hook up in time to keep out of the sand.

    Guys,
You can really appreciate this video. 1.41 is a great time at Laguna. (I have run Laguna many times and I would love to run these times with either my '73S racer or my SCCA Camaro Z28 1LE). This is especially neat in a car without any wings or big displacement power. This video shows what real racing is all about...not running for time but passing, trying tro pass...and getting passed...in a race. You drive the fastest line when you can and you drive a blocking line when you have to...and you get blocked at times too. You wind your little 2.0L+ engine to 8,000 and hope nothing happens to it. My congrats to Chad. He was out there in a little 2.5L without aero. He did great. This is not "bench racing". He walks the talk we so often see on the boards.

Just when I thought I got racing out of my system, you have to go and post this video. I see a few track days in my future. Well done.
