    '67 911S Info wanted/paint code/questions

I have a 67 911 basket case, that I bought in this condtion years ago.
the serial number is 305875s, it only has the "s" on the serial # on the lower dash, is this normal?
is it a 911S? engine#909554# 901/05 Did this engine come with this serial#?
    paint # plate on left a pillar reads 97 6206 L
    what colour is it?
    Thanks for looking

S vin, regular most likely not original matching engine.
6206 is silver (from the 356 series).

    You can post more pictures?

Sure I can post more picture's, but its a sad sight! What does the 97 mean before the 6206, and the L after the 6206?
From your I.D. 304678 does that mean you have a 911 1197 numbers from this 911S?

It doesn't work like that, not all numbers were assigned to cars.

BTW I believe your number is 1 off from the first R.

There are two more places for the VIN in the front trunk: The aluminum badge, and the body stamp in front of the heater cubbyhole.
The paint badge has it also, so you need to clean some paint off of the badge to see it. All of the locations need to show the S somehow.
The paint is as has been stated: high temperature baked silver by Lesonal; this was a special color.
909554 could be original to the car, the number is appropriate. Strange to have the S on the knee bar, but actually not be an S. This is the first example of this occurring that I know of.

Size: 118.3 KBdavep, I do not have the aluminum badge, the serial# stamp is very rusted, where on the paint badge is the serial number? above the paint number? Is it stamped?
If I scrape some paint off I'm worried about damaging the serial# on paint badge
Does the aluminum dash plates make it a normal?
Does raj mean that 305876s was the first R?
you are in Ontario, I'm in Quebec, 25kms from Ontario border
    Thanks!

The body stamp does not have the S, so I'm pretty sure that it is not an S and the engine is the original. The paint tag does not have a hint of an S either, but a bit of paint thinner might clean things up if used sparingly.
What Raj means is that the first prototype for the 911R was 305876S. There were 4 1967 911R prototypes built. There was only one set of 1967 VIN's with the S cars scattered throughout the VIN range. For some reason the S was stamped on the knee frame on your car when it was not supposed to be; or they changed their mind.
