    1976 934 Turbo RSR, s/n 930.670.0540

Been quite a few years since I started a thread here so go easy on me.... I am hoping some members of this esteemed site can assist with period race photos of a 934 we finally acquired after many years trying.

This is chassis 930.670.0540, the last of 31 examples completed and raced from new until sometime in 1979.

Attached are snapshots of how the car appeared the day we acquired it and before it was moved to the port to ship to the States.

Here are some of the known period races we are hoping to find some photos from:

    30.5.1976 1000 km Nürburgring No. 28 Drees / Kauwertz 16th
    27.6.1976 6 h Zeltweg No. 4 Schmid / Oppitzhauser 11th
    29.5.1977 1000 km Nürburgring No. 10 Drees / Kauwertz 25th
    19.3.1978 6 h Mugello No. 29 Drees / Kauwertz 29th
    16.4.1978 6 h Dijon No. 12 Drees / Kauwertz 10th
    14.5.1198 6 h Silverstone No. 17 Franey / Drees 14th
    28.5.1978 1000 km Nürburgring No. 19 Drees / Hahnlein 17th
22.7.1979 DRM Diepholz ? Jan Lundgardh DNF
    5.8.1979 6 h Brands Hatch No. 33 Lundgardh / Braun NC
    16.9.1979 6 h Vallelunga No 45 Lundgardh / Braun DNA

Any assistance would be most appreciated. I am also happy to share private additional photos and notes on the car with anyone interested in them.

    Cheers,

I think you have some research work ahead of you. I do not know if his information is accurate. But Martin at Racingsportscars , has Klaus Drees using 670 0151. The Factory test car which was sold to Jürgen Kannacher.

Here is a photo of what RSC has labeled as 0151 at 1977 Zolder (13.3.1977) entered by Kannacher GT-Racing with Alberto Zirkel as Pilot.

Then a photo of Drees at 1977 Nürburgring 1000km. (29.5.1977) in a car also labeled as 0151....you can see by the graphics , they are the same car.

Im 1978 , Drees seems to have used mainly car/s with 935 body work . the 3rd photo is him in a car RSC lists as 770 0907 at 1978 DRM Nürburgring Eifelrennen.

Jan 'Lundgardh' , seemingly used 935 bodied cars from 1978 onward.

Good luck in your further research.

PS - I find 770 0907 , listed as being entered in 1977 events by Josef Brambring (Brambring-Franz Racing) & Kremer Racing.

Many thanks Peekaboo for your assistance and input. 930.670.0540 was a "Special Wish" by favored Factory Client, Wolfgang Kauwertz in Germany. The races noted above are some of the championship "log book" entries by carnet for the car. Klaus Drees, also from Germany co-drove with him and he also had others over the years run the car for him. Klaus Drees was a hired gun for many of these races and always on the hunt for a drive and his name appears in many of the races from this period.

    Again my thanks,

    Bill Noon

Very old, but both the Kannacher and the Gatzweiler car is not not 0151, but the former Evertz 934 which Kannacher bought after an heavy accident at the Nürburgring. This car was entered by Kannacher at the Norisring 1976 whilst his own 0151 was rented to Evertz for Hartwig Bertrams. The "935" #18 was a 935 lookalike on an old 911 shell, so not a 934 nor a real 935.
