    Repoduction 911 R / ST /RSR parts - lwt seat brackets

Well i have had a few people chasing me for these so i have put it to the top of the list . The prototype is being produced ready for next week , this will be sent to Gib for checking / mounting and from there if we are happy will go into production. there will be two versions made (3mm and 5mm ) so if you are of the larger sizing (compared to the drivers of the 70's we all are ) the 5mm will take the weight better.
So expressions of interest please and as always we will be working to produce these as cheaply as possible for everyone .
as a side note , if anyone has a genuine bar not installed that would provide some more photos it will help get these accurate.

Looking really good John. One of the main problems I've found with the lightweight cross bars is that they tend to mount the seat to high.
If using original Recaro 4 hole brackets as pictured below, you want to be careful your design means that you can use the top hole so you
have the option of the seat sitting as low as possible. The original bracket and copies I have seen will not let you use that top hole.

    Hope that's of some help.
    cheers, Mike

John - cool! Keep us posted.

Mike - school me. I thought the brackets have only three adjustment holes.

EDIT: Mike - it's me again. Bob. I assume those are originals and not repros. Si or no?

Hi Bob, the original brackets for the sports Recaro buckets have 4 holes, and Si the ones in the picture
are an original set that have been re-finished.

I agree with Mike on this. It has to do with the shape of the bracket and the position of the welded nut.
Also I'm not sure what the right way to mount these crossbars is. The problem with the top hole of the slider is only there when mounting them what I believe is upside down. If you flip em upside down the nut for mounting is in a lower position, but I'm not sure yet if there is enough clearance in the chassis of the car to mount it that way. (I've added some pictures of the 2 positions)

If you look at the original recaro tilt frame, the rear mounting point for the s;lider are lower than the fronts, giving the seat a more leaned back position. This way the seat is more confortable for most people and gives more head room.

I'm pretty sure I flipped the rear cross bars upside down for headroom and seat angle here.
