I purchased one of these used in 1985, it was listed in a local newspaper at a very low price. When I called the guy was very curt having received tons of calls so he was right to the point he said... "their are three issues with the car, it has no sunroof, no air conditioning and high mileage" my response was... " what's high mileage" he said "42K" I said "I'll take it !" It was one of the best little cars I owned, a four wheeled motorcycle ! I sold it seven years later with 100K on it and still regret it to this day : (

. . . That little red car looks like a scream. The Mk I GTi never came here, so seeing one re-incarnated like this --- round lights, itsy-bitsy bikini bumpers, all with over-the-top effort + materials + attention . . . . wow.

'Two big Weber side-drafts' = zero chance of registering in CA.
