    Seller's Description:

This is a very well preserved early 1967 Porsche 911 Short Wheel Base (build date 7/6/1966) which has been owned by our client, the 4th owner, for some time. He has been a longtime member of the Classic Car Club of America and has enjoyed a beautiful collection of important cars. With the exception of a repaint, this 911 is completely original and a survivor.

This 911 has spent much of its early life in and around the Midwest. In the early 90’s, the second owner (names have been kept private at the seller’s request) purchased the car and enjoyed it for spirited driving on fair weather days. The third owner and current owner also used the car on various driving events and enjoyed it as it was intended to be used. Long winding country roads, cruise nights, and a lot of winding down at the end of a work day. Today, this 911 has 98,000 original miles. The Sand Beige Paint code (6607) is the original color, however this 911 was repainted by the second owner. In full transparency, the repaint is not a top quality job, as there is evidence of poor paint prep before the silver was applied. Any avid Porsche collector and enthusiast will eventually want to have the car refinished to its original livery, but will certainly want to enjoy it as is for a time.

This 911 has been very well cared for and driven very little over the course of its life, as evidenced by its comparatively low mileage. Since being in the care of the present owner, this 911 has been very well cared for and driven on a regular basis. Interestingly, this is one of the very few 911’s to come with dealer installed factory headrests. These very rare OEM parts, along with the Sand Beige color make this Porsche a very unusual, though very interesting 911. Further speaking to the originality of the car, the hood emblem and rear deckled lettering are also original, parts which are not easy to find. Likewise, the outstanding originality of the interior is worth noting and will be touched on more, shortly.

This 911 has been well maintained and preserved throughout its life. Though certainly more of a driver’s quality, rather than show car right now, this Porsche would benefit greatly from a proper paint job and detailing. A close examination of the photos will show there are several spots of bubbling under the paint, the result of amateur paint prep, and orange peel is present on some of the painted surfaces. However, with matching numbers and all original components, this 911 has a very solid foundation. It is the perfect candidate for restoration, or can simply be enjoyed as an accident and rust free survivor car that can be driven every day. Most important on a Porsche of this vintage, the chassis is rust free (with minimal normal surface corrosion present) with much of its factory undercoating still present. Nonetheless, it is in nice condition today for touring and general use.

Beyond the paint, the body and exterior aesthetics of this 911 are very nice. The badges and lettering are clear, all body panels line up properly, and the chrome and glasswork are in excellent shape. The bumpers and their inserts are correct and original. Likewise all lighting components are clear, clean, and function properly, and include the very desirable factory fog lamps. The roof rack is believed to be a dealer option but could also be a close facsimile of a period roof rack that was a dealer installed option. The rack’s frame and wooden slats are in excellent shape and give the car a very European sporting look to it. However the car and the rack came together, we’re big fans!

The interior is overall a very well preserved and original example. The attractive Beige Leatherette seats with black carpet and dash are tasteful and without any cracks or abrasion. The dash, door panels and headliner are in overall very good condition. The front seats are without rips or stains and remain soft and supple. Nearly all interior components work as they should, including all instrumentation. You will even notice the seldom seen Porsche tissue dispenser installed and the optional radio antenna, as well as two aftermarket speakers mounted in the driver and passenger footwell.

The 2.0L air-cooled flat 6 cylinder engine made 130hp for the 1967 model year, and this particular 911 has no problem enjoying every bit of it. In typical Porsche fashion, the power delivery is smooth and effortless, while the transmission shifts and operates as it should. The overall mechanical condition of this 911 is very good. At one point there was a dual aftermarket exhaust installed on the car (see photos with roof rack). The original exhaust has been reinstalled, however the dual kit does come with the car.

    Description:

The car is in great shape. It starts up right away, accelerates smoothly, idles well, drives straight, and stops just fine too.
California car, so no significant rust.
Interior is in great shape overall. Not faded, torn up, smoked in, and no dash cracks.
New brakes and new tires. Clutch a few years ago.
Here is a walk around of the car, and a video of it running and driving:
You can see that the car is in great shape, especially for the age.
Keeping that in mind, I do want to spend a disproportionate amount of time on the negatives & flaws so that all of the known issues are fully addressed and disclosed.
Please check the last photo for VIN information: 11805347

    Cosmetic:
Paint imperfections. The pictures say it all, no serious damage or indentations, and from far away it is quite eye catching. Up close though, it could definitely use love. There is orange peel in some areas around the car. There are some areas where paint has come of for doesn’t look the best. There are chips very noticeably on the lower section of the front bumper.
I would have it refinished, but since I am selling it, I am leaving it up to the next owner to customize as they desire (leave it as-is,change the color, RWB conversion, etc.) With the number of options available, I decided just to leave it up to the future owner to make their own.

    Interior:
    - 2 Vents on interior dash (Driver and passenger side. Middle isintact)
    - Armrest on driver’s door.

    Electrical:
    - Blower Fan
    - Sunroof
    - Windshield wipers
Could be loose connection, a blown fuse, or something else. Since none of those components directly affect how the car drives, they’ve gone unaddressed for the time being. (Thankful to be in California).

Forthose whom the photos and video don't suffice, I’m happy to take as many photos as you’d like me to, do a FaceTime tour, etc. I'm also willing to have the car can be taken to a mechanic (Porsche, 3rd party, or a local enthusiast) at your expense as well if desired. Not trying to hide anything whatsoever, so go to whatever lengths you desire prior to the purchase. With that in mind, the car is being sold in as-is condition.
Price is “OBO” and willing to make a deal as the values of these are scattered all over the place depending on condition. Please keep it reasonable considering the rarity and overall great condition.(Despite the flaws, its a running, driving, clean title, clean-bodied car).
For local buyers, it’s a pre-1975 car, so no smog needed.
Clean title in hand. If interested, please reach out. 720-252-1166.

this german blue car and the us silver car is a very good comparison for prices...both are priced the same and the difference in quality and condition is obvious. some sellers tend to overprice because they think they are smart...

    translated the german description:
Really serious Porsche 911 Coupe with factory sliding roof, original, non-adjustable domes and all specifications relevant to the year of construction ... except for the engine, this is a 68 engine from a 911 T with 110 hp (engine number 6190232). According to the color code, the vehicle left the factory in light ivory, currently it is dark blue. The bodywork is good and the interior needs attention. In the course of a restoration, this vehicle can be brought back to its originality. The mileage of 73,179 mls is read, VIN: 301316.

The car appears to be largely unmolested and still has its Solex carburetors. On the other hand, the paint's peeling off. There's other work required...

The hockey puck horn button looks nice.

A reply with a very short half-life pointed me to the answer.

My accessories catalog shos the optional batwing/butterfly horn button [I can't keep batwing/butterfly straight] as:

9266 Signaltaste, schwarz (bei 911 ohne Mehrpreis) 21 DM
    901.347.802.00 Horn button, black

Google translates Signaltaste as Signal button.

My hardcopy parts catalog shows the "hockey puck" as:

    53 901.347.803.00 Signalknopf - Signal button

    and the batwing/butterfly version as:

    55 901.347.802.00 Signaltaste - Signal key

    Dealer Description:

    - Mileage: 7’200 KM
    - 1st registration: April 1965

We are glad to present this gorgeous Champagne Yellow 1965 911 2.0 Short Wheel Base. This car was delivered new to the US in April of 1965, it remained there for a few decades where it was owned by a famous baseball player of the time before being brought back to Europe by its then new owner following a "barn find".

The car came to Europe in 2016 where it was subject to a full "nuts and bolts" restoration by a known specialist. The car was stripped to its bare shell, every part and every screw were removed and restored. The matching engine and gearbox as well as the infamous Solex carburettors were fully rebuilt. Since the restoration completed the car has driven just over 7'000 km and has been serviced once a year.

This 911 is presented in a condition you would expect it to be after a full restoration, it is immaculate. Being a 1965 model (chassis 300828) this 911 is eligible for the Peter Auto 2L cup.

A complete restoration handbook, Kardex, original service book, original owner's manual as well as several registration documents and invoices accompany this beautiful 911 SWB. The car was also featured on the cover and in a 5 page article in the Porsche specialised magazine "Excellence" from the US.

The car is currently registered and located in Monaco with EU tax paid.
