Best I could tell by the chassis number, 300796 would have been built in first half of 1965.

BaT Description:
This 1965 Porsche 911 is a short-wheelbase coupe that was built on February 8th, 1965, and delivered new to Kittner of Lübeck Germany. It was acquired by the seller in 2011 in Australia and subsequently relocated to Germany where it underwent a refurbishment that included rebuilding the numbers-matching 2.0L flat-six and five-speed manual transaxle, installing replacement black vinyl upholstery, and overhauling the suspension. The engine and transmission were again rebuilt in late 2021. The car is finished in Champagne Yellow and equipment includes Solex carburetors, steel 15″ wheels, a wood-rimmed steering wheel, a Webasto heater, and a Blaupunkt stereo. This 911 is now offered in Germany with refurbishment photos, manufacturer’s literature, service records, a tool kit, removed parts, a Porsche Kardex, and a German registration certificate in the seller’s name.
The car was finished from the factory in Champagne Yellow (6405) and was repainted during the previous ownership. Features include yellow-tinted front foglight lenses, rear chrome bumper guards, a Talbot-style driver-side mirror, gold script on the rear decklid, chrome trim, and a single exhaust outlet. Door VIN stamp images are shown in the gallery along with close-up photos of the paint, body, trim, and badging.
Steel 4.5×15″ Lemmerz steel wheels date stamped 1/65 feature polished hubcaps with Porsche crests and are wrapped in 165-width Vredestein Sprint Classic tires. The suspension is said to have been overhauled and features Koni dampers. Braking is handled by discs at all four corners, and the rear wheel bearings were replaced in December 2020.
The car was delivered new with a green leatherette and corduroy interior, and black seats and carpeting have since been installed. Additional features include a Blaupunkt push-button radio, wood-trimmed dash, front and rear quarter glass windows, and the factory-optional Webasto gas heater.
The wood-rimmed steering wheel fronts green-letter VDO instruments with German text consisting of a central tachometer with a 6,800-rpm redline, clock, 250 km/h speedometer, and auxiliary gauges for fuel level, oil level, oil pressure, and oil temperature. The five-digit odometer shows 18k kilometers (11k miles), approximately 15k of which were added by the seller. The seller notes that the gears in the odometer slip. Total mileage is unknown.
The numbers-matching 2.0L flat-six was factory rated for 130 horsepower and has been rebuilt twice in the last 10 years. The most recent December 2021 overhaul consisted of replacing the timing chain, chain tensioner, pistons, cylinders, camshaft, connecting rod, exhaust valves, valve guides, ring gear, and piston shafts as well as the main, differential, and cylindrical row bearings. The engine is equipped with dry-sump lubrication, triple Solex 40 PI carburetors, a multi-piece steel airbox, dual Pierburg mechanical fuel pumps, and a Bendix electrical fuel pump. Engine stamping *900483* and transaxle stamping 100324 match the Kardex and can be viewed in the gallery.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a numbers-matching 901/0 five-speed manual transaxle with a dogleg shift pattern. The transmission was disassembled and the third, fourth, and fifth gears were replaced in September 2021. The removed Nadella drive shafts are included in the sale. The Kardex displays a build date of February 8th, 1965, and lists the factory colors, equipment, and powertrain numbers.
