    1967 911 S Coupe For Sale 307653S

    Serial number 307653S
Paint Code 6603 - Golf Blue
    $32.000 OBO

I am reluctantly processing the idea of selling it. Like my father, I find it extremely hard to part with any car.. I still have my first car, a 72 bmw 2002.

I found this car in Oregon about 15 years ago. Stored in the basement of a small house near the Oregon coast. Less than 60k, miles on the odometer. It was parked nearly 20 years earlier in a storage unit in Eugene Oregon prior to this guy buying it, when the engine was blown due to the rock into the bottom of the case. Car had the original case (with hole) along with it, most of the engine parts there but disassembled. The interior was complete, but worn, re painted at some point long before it was parked, some body work in driver’s door and RF fender, LR bumper over rider, and no Fuchs.. There was a sad (red) 3.0sc engine in the back, but had never hooked up, that’s a story in itself... I’m fairly sure the <60K miles is accurate as the clutch and brake pedal pads were not very worn and the carpet on the door sill was still good.

I bought the car in April of 1997 and moved to Bozeman, MT shortly thereafter. I wanted to start Vintage racing with my own car. Dad and I had been running the old Porsche’s since the mid 70’s and I was hooked early in life. I traded the SC engine (plus$$ ) to an engine builder in CA (not Motormeister) for an aluminum case 2.0 spec engine. A rod let go on that engine about 4 years ago, damaging the top side of the alu case and the counter weighted crank. I should have spent the money up front and had Steve Rowe build the original replacement, it would still be running. The car now has a 69 mag case 2.0 legal engine, non-counterweighted crank with 11./1 compression pistons built by a knowledgeable mechanic in Great Falls. It runs the original Weber carbs, original Dizzy with points and an MSD 6AL for ignition. Definitely a better engine than I started with, but no stock case, etc. I have a small leak off one oil return tube when I started it up this spring, working on that.

Trans is a 902/02 5 speed, very close to original case number 901/02. I’ve replaced all the shift bushings, etc. Running Swepco oil in in it per Steve Rowe’s recommendation. Small leak off the front shift rod seal, working on that.

Paint is still the nearly 40 year old respray. I live on a dirt road, felt that I would never drive it if I painted it. Original Color is 6603 / Golf Blue, it is currently a darker blue. There is some need for body work, rockers still look solid, front battery tray/suspension pan was replaced before I started anything else. I have all the glass still in the car (windshield cracked, dirt road passing an oncoming neighbor) including the back window. I strapped the back window to secure it. It has a glass “S” front bumper in red and steel rear bumpers and center plate section.

Ten years back I brought it to Denver for a number of RMVR races. I used it has an RMVR log book, car number 669. With the original rebuild, it wasn’t a front runner, but we had a good time and worked out many kinks in the suspension, fuel system, etc. Car is licensed in Montana and I do drive it in DE’s with the PCA chapters up here, and on the street when the roads are dry. Roll cage is a Safety devices unit with full braces, except under the dash and not tied to any suspension points. I have older stor’s garage style front strut brace in the car, not very effective, but what I had. I have a Cobra FIA spec seat with an adjustable brace in it currently, with a wink mirror hung on the upper roll cage support. Will sell it with Cookie Cutters and Yokohama A008r’s (205/60/15).

Car has update front suspension pieces (powder coated) from a 72 T, including the torsion bars, can’t remember size. The back is un-touched.. Both front and rear bars are stock 67s, powder coated and new bushings. Bilstien sports all around. Stock early s calipers and vented disks, not alu calipers.

Interior is as I said worn and not currently in the car except for the door panels (with speaker holes, urgh) and the rear jump seats .. I also have the webasto heater complete in a box. I have an 11 gallon fuel safe cell in it with a Holley Red pump and Holley regulator. Stock air cleaner canister with KN insert. I have all the original carpet and interior trim, along with the S exterior trim, less the front bumper and trim.

I hate to sell it, but financing a couple of Ski racers is killing my budget.
