    Historic Picture

This picture by Miguel Quintana who has been around awhile to say the least. He followed the career of Pedro Rodriguez and has continued coverage of F1 and many other series.

Looks like Sicily. My guess is that we are looking at the Porsche team effort for the '67 Targa Florio, when the factory entered seven of the then newly introduced 910s, - three with the new flat eight-cylinder motors, the rest with tried & proven 906-type 901 / 21 6-cylinder engines,......., just in case. This was the year that Ferrari had also introduced their new car, the 206 Dino which had surprised Porsche in previous races with unexpected performance. In the actual event, Porsche took the top three places, with one of the 2.2 eight-cylinder models winning.

PS: Not to be overly critical, but the site seems awfully slow today,........must be a new record for members logged on and browsing.
