    Looking for Moe Eckley...

I recently bought a 1973 911E that was converted from new to 2.7 Carrera RS Touring spec.

The original owner - Moe Eckley - wanted an RS but since they did not meet the current US emission regulations it was not possible to (officially) import one into the US.

So, he ordered a non-sunroof '73 2.4 E plus all of the individual parts from the Factory that were required to 'convert' it to RS Touring spec & got the Dealer (Anderson-Behl of Sunnyvale, CA) to carry out the necessary work.

I have quite a bit of history/paperwork on the car but would like to track down the original owner if possible.

Moe Eckley was last known to be living in the Santa Cruz area - any of you 'older' CA guys heard of or know him ?

The dealership still exists. It's Anderson-Behel, not Anderson-Behl. It may have been in Sunnyvale in those days but it is in San Jose now, on Stevens Creek Blvd, and goes by the lengthy moniker of Anderson-Behel Stevens Creek Porsche/Audi. I bought a car from them in 2001, and they are a large volume dealer. Third in the whole US for Audi sales. Not sure if they have any records going back that far, or if they would be any help in researching the car, but here is their site -

Checked listings for the area, nothing found for Moe, he's probably in Porsche Heaven by this time........

    Another interesting car . . . .

    Any updates on this?

(I recall reading about an E-car that had a bunch of RS-type body/engine/trans mods, turned up sometime in the last year . . . . orange, I think? Even had a write-up done, somewhere. Same car?)

This thread was from 7 years ago !

I tracked down the original owner (via the internet) & spoke to him at length on the phone.

Car was Grand Prix White with blue decals/wheels - I sold it (& immediately regretted it !) several years ago to Dirk Sadlowski @ PS Automobil in Germany.
