    More Porsche Hell . . .

    Heard this story . . .

Coupla weeks back, Guy walks into Bob Campbells's, asks about his Speedie, the Ole Black One he's been driving, like . . . for ever.

    'How much?'

Now, Bob's been approached before, been asked this before --- dozens of times . . . never said anything except 'no' . . .

But this time, he thinks 'I'll just throw out a crazy number, cut this conversation short.'

    '$250k'

    'Sold!'

    Short conversation, alright.

For those not in the know, Bobs car is absolutely concurs......underneath. He just liked the patina, and the shocked look on peoples face when they looked close.

Right Buyer, right Seller, right Car.

Right time and place. Lightening strikes.

    Not the typical-kinda transaction.

But Bob's car wasn't typical, either. (Neither is Bob.)

Kinda puts the whole concours/restored/repro/original issue into focus for me.

Bob's was a Real Porsche --- went places, did stuff --- had the marks and the miles to show for it.

And what's the New Owner gonna do to it?

    Drive it.

Why else buy it? . . . or any Porsche?
