Kind of sad if it's leaving Santa Cruz... The base 68 was a very nice car on it's own merit even before this extrodinary build. I still have some very fine pieces from it.
Well done Matt!

A cool car at a fair price. That sale took what, 2 days? Shows that even in this crappy economic climate, a quick deal is still possible when price meets value. I see a lot of other really nice cars for sale languishing on the market for months these days, mostly from misplaced perceptions of value by the owners, I think. Times are tough.

I do not know if I agree Tom. The car was very nice and in my mind it was sold for the money of a converted 912.

YMMV. It is simply a matter of how much time you want to spend on the sale. If you're willing to wait for months to find the buyer who is a perfect match for what you're offering and willing to pay the higher price, you could wring more money out of the deal, undoubtedly. If you really want to move the car, the kind of price-point that attracts more buyers willing to commit and not dance you around the block is the ticket. I think he took the latter route, as would I. You (and others in the same situation) might not, and that's a matter of personal preference and financial situation. My car is very similar to this one, and if I were to sell it, I would price it at $30K and probably take $27K, too.
