    Hi Andy,

Is the first wheel you show the one I bought off you? It looks familiar.

The wheel that came to me with Patrick looks just like the first one shown, with the 'X' pattern all the way around the wheel. The second one you show is very interesting as there is no stiching in the spoke area. Is the leather there overlapping and glued? Never seen one like that.

Hey Michael let me know if you want any additional photos for your data base. Merry Christmas.

Wow Dave those wheels are really spectacular. Thanks for posting those up.

Reviving an old thread, with a wheel that I have been given to recover.
This on has been neglected, but is all original. It came with a hockey puck horn button.
Cross stitching on the spokes, folded leather edge on the spokes.
The black felt is 2mm thick and glued to the outer edge of the spokes. No other layer under the leather.
The core wheel is hard plastic.
    Leaving this here for reference

Not really Allen. Look at the Dave's first post in this thread. There was also a thin layer of cotton material that is absent on the wheel that George is redoing. Hi George. If there is still any original leather on the wheel you have could you measure the circumference of the rim? Thanks.

You're correct, sorry I missed that and I even have a photo of my wheel apart. Below. I'm deleting my misleading post. Thanks.

    Hi Brian,
The leather piece is 8.5cm wide, which would indicate a rim circumference between 8.5 and 9 cm, allowing for some stretch of the leather.

Out of the restoration of this wheel, I will get an original hockey puck for mine, which is a thin rim, but now extended hub wheel. I could save the original leather on mine, but this one is too far gone.

And I confirm, there nothing more than the glued black felt under the leather. And that is the original leather, no question.
