I remember seeing this car for sale three years ago while I was getting my Lotus serviced at Sports and Specialist Cars in Hopewell, NJ. It's hard to believe they still have it.....although $450K is alittle steep. It's a beautiful car to see in person.....with the silver exterior and cool green plaid interior.

Although many think that this car is cool looking, the reason that this car is still for sale is that it is NOT a real RSR. The history of this car is well documented and if memory serves, there is a thread about it somehwere on this site.

This is a "built-up" RSR from an older S(?) chassis and after it's tour of duty in Australia, ended up back at the factory as a mule for the upcoming Turbo program.

$450K for an S is a lotta coin for a car that wasn't owned by Steve McQueen !

I wonder what happened to the wooden 930 prototype mocked up engine they put in this car for the Int Auto Show

either that or the 16cyl engine seen at Rennsport would make a great coffee table if you put a piece of glass on top of it.

This is one of those cars where you either 'get it' or you don't.

I'm in the get it camp - turbo prototype show car history, built to RSR spec by the factory for racing, period race history, etc etc and cool seats to boot. What's not to like?

I don't know what its worth, but I know I like it.
    Cheers, Ryan

I guess that of those that "get it" no one seems to "get it $450K worth". So it's a question of value?

    Just sayin.
