Third annual Northeast spring rally now known as the NE Mountain Melee May 18-20

We are once again planning our major Northeast Spring Event, now officially known as the NE Mountain Melee to take place at the Mount Washington Omni in Bretton Woods NH. Last year we had attendees from as far away as California and the U.K. join us for the 1000 mile romp through some of the best roads in New England. Last year we had around 35 cars and a total of 50 attendees, we expect those numbers to grow significantly for 2012. The host hotel provided us with a private facility for a home-style BBQ that was a huge success. And then there were the roads. With the perfect combination of low population density and high degree of mountain climbs, during the off-season, we were able to make the most of three terrific days. I've been assured we will even have better weather this year.

We will be posting lodging details shortly, for now, we urge you to block off May 18-20 for this event.

if you want to see what happened last year, here's a good thread documenting the event:

please let me know your intentions by email, if you plan to join us.

    Update, hotel details....

The hotel is now ready to take reservations.

Call the omni at 800-258-0330...when you call, you must mention the northeast mountain Melee event.

These rates are guaranteed to be better than any other rates you will find anywhere, so please let me know if you find any rates that might be close.

Our room block will only be held until April 17.

In addition to the following rates, the resort requires a $20/night resort fee, this resort fee is what allows us to use the rec center for our BBQ dinners.

The lodge can be had for only $75/night single or double occupancy, $95 for triple and $115 for quad

The main hotel will be $129/night single or double occupancy, $149 triple and $169 quad

Rates are In effect for a minimum 2 night stay, but you can stay longer and take advantage of these rates.

Currently, the main hotel rooms are being held as single double beds, the lodge rooms are double queens.

The hotel will have car washing facilities for us, as well as a designated parking area, so we can hang out late and have plenty of space.

    Any questions, let me know.

Sounds like its very well done, thanks for all the work.

I would like to attend, I live in Chicagoland and would like to drive one of my 1973, but no heater, no cruse, no great sounds for the trip east. Maybe some from Midwest could hook up together for the drive or would there be a place to store my truck and trailer if I tow the car?

Bill, Scott Hansen drove out 2 years ago (from Chicago) and Curt Egerer drove out last year (from MI). There may me some of the midwest crew coming this way. If you need some place to park a truck and trailer, I'm sure we can sort you out.

So looking forward to this year, as last spring (our virgin stay at Mt. Washington Hotel) was such a great time - great cars, wonderful people, and perfect roads.

I'll be shipping my car East, participating in the event and then driving back home. I'm hoping to have a few local SoCal guys (and their cars) with me. Still need to figure out a drop-off point for the car(s), though...

This was such an awesome event as a passenger I can only imagine how much fun it will be as a driver.

I'm 30 minutes north of Newark, and can handle storing 3-4 cars, indoors, with good company, whatever you send out will be nicely warmed up when you arrive....

of course, if time is tight, you can ship the car somewhere closer to NH, maybe even the hotel itself, and fly into manchester NH, you'll miss out on the fun caravan, however....

I grew up in Franconia, NH. Its about 20 min. to Bretton Woods on the west side of Mt Washington. I will have room for a few rigs to park during the event if interested, also plenty of sleeping bag space if you come early. Steve

If you plan on trailering your car to the Mt. Washington Hotel for our event, there will be parking available for your rig in a dedicated area.
