I saw this same listing and thought "wtf".... I'm not a purist, so I'll throw my opinion in and say that's way out of scale. If I wanted a bigger tail, then I'd get a carrera tail...not a huge duck.

Definately not FOP, and not exactly Dapper Dan... that ducktail needs Butch Wax.

A true purist would defend it. The engineers wanted the spoiler to extend higher up -- in testing there were continued improvements the higher it went, regardless of its shape. But it was kept at its modest height for aesthetic reasons -- and then in 1974 it was outlawed for safety reasons by the government, odd as that sounds.

At least, that's the story as I've heard it.

    Unhappy

Jack, kinda makes me wonder what a pure purist is. It's on a 964. Why not just go with a whale tail?

I personally suspect that it's a hoax to try to get a rise out of the viewing public, just to stir things up. It's about the ugliest friggin' thing I've seen in a while. No one could miss the mark that badly on purpose and he's taking pre-orders at $1,000.00. I mean, what the WHAT?!!!!
