Thread: “Coppola” car

  1. #11
That would be my driveway in the pics. I can't say the car brings back great memories.

The original color was Bahama Yellow. It's a solid car. The knocks against it would be: color change, LWB fenders put on during the aformentioned "restoration", non original transmission.

This car was just sold yesterday in Stuttgart at the Retro show there. I saw it before it was sold, and I contacted a local friend who reminded me that it was in fact the Coppola car. Price was 79,000euros which INCLUDES 19% vat.

    regards,
    Eric

So, at today's exchange rate, net of VAT, it sold for $88,150.

Bill adjusted the price for import taxes "Net VAT".

I don't know whether his calculation is correct but that is another point.

Yes, and as I said, deducting 19% for VAT:
105,398.40 x (1 - 0.19) = 85,372.70 This is what the seller realized BEFORE commissions, etc. I think my conversion rate was more generous.

Why deduct? The buyer took the tax into consideration when buying the car as you would an auction fee. The 105 is the number IMHO :0

    I found it

I was the guy that discovered it. I bought it in San Diego, and brought it back to Oregon. Then drove it to LA and sold it. It had fitted luggage that I later sold.

So, ... you're the one that stripped it... (sorry couldn't help myself, and yes I would have kept the luggage too!).

Did Craig Stevenson own it before or after you?

Keeping the luggage was obvious, since the new owner didn't even have enough sense to keep it the original color!
No, Craig never had anything to do with the car that I am aware of. Certainly not before I owned it, or recently after it was sold.
