    Tyre Options

    Hello all,

I need to purchase some new tyres for my car and I was wondering if anybody has used these before and if they could recommend supplier.

    http://www.toyotires.com.au/tyres/pa...erformance.htm

    Toyo Proxes T1-R in the following sizes. 205x 55 15 fronts + 225x50 15 rears

Can any body suggest another "Performance" brand tyre that would also have these sizes available?

    Regards

Peter, whereabouts in Oz are you?

Kumho v70A's would be worth considering as well if you are looking at R compound tyres

    Hi,

I run that exact tire and size combination on my car. They are ok but the sidewalls are pretty soft and not as good in the wet as they advertise. I did like the Bridgestone Potenza S03A much more but they don't make them anymore in those sizes, shame! Not many options left in this field.

Exactly my experiences with the T1-R. I found the sidewall to be very soft and you loose some steering feel we all love on our cars. I am in contact with Pirelli as they might schedule the Asimmetrico in 205 & 225/50-15 for 2012 after a 3 years wait.

What about BFGoodrich G-Force Sport in 205x55+225x50X15 Sizes?
How do they compare with the TOYO T1-R.
These seem to be only tyres available in these sizes both here and the USA.

I would recommend the stiff sidewalled Kumho V70A as they are available worldwide in 205/225-50-15 from Kumho Motorsports. There are different compounds available and I think the soft K20 compound on the front and the K40 compound on the back would function well if you don't intend intense track work in a hot environment. I have driven the harder compounds K40/K60 here in Germany in the wet several times which has not been a big problem - and we certainly have a lot of rain here...
