Porsche fitted that seat (seat adjuster slider underneath thigh) type without the recaro badge, and with the headrest into 1968 models.

Recaro sold this version of the seat like it is pictured (with the Recaro badge) for many years into the aftermarket and advertised it up into the early 70's in Panorama.

US model.... we had to have headrests here in 1968, unless the car was an independent "entry" into the USA of a European model car. However, I believe you will find that many European model 911's were equipped with headrests in 1968, many European countries had different laws to this regard. My family had a new VW 411 in 1968 that we had federalized and brought into the country and it didn't have headrests.

If you wish to debate headrests for 1968, please advise which country you want to argue about, and I'll dig out my literature.""

Good eye, Bob. That does appear to be a Scheel.
