    Removal of guages-light wire?

    I am removing my guages - 67 s.

The knurled nuts and main wires seem easy to remove. There are wires ( for guage lighting?) that appear to go directly in to a plastic socket in the back of the guage with no obvious disconnection method.

Do these sockets pull out of the guages? Or do the wires pull out of the socket? Or do the sockets turn to come out of the guages?

The bulb holder pulls out of the gauge. Don't pull on the wire though, take a knife blade and pry the socket out.

To elaborate, the bulb sockets are hardwired to the wires you are seeing. The sockets are a snug press fit into the rear of the gauge. Pry them out or use some pliers and gently twist them out.
