    1966 911 on Ebay

Has anyone seen the green 1966 911 on Ebay, and if so, are you familiar with the car?

Was on Ebay a while back (spring 2011) at least twice. Went unsold with a high bid of about 25K. I went to FL and on other business and called the seller. He gave me his life story and really didn't feel good about the conversation, so never went to see the 911. It was listed on craigs list forever. I'd high recommend a PPI at the least.

He might very well be a nice guy, but I couldn't get a question in edge wise. Most of the one way conversation was on his hardship story and a run down on the poor economic conditions in FL.

Simple supply and demand theory and the rising tide of enthusiasm for the SWB 911 tells me he will easily get over 25K for this car. As of this morning it is sitting at 17.1k with almost 8 days to go on Ebay. Just in the last year since I've been keeping track of price increases, I have seen SWB 911's not just creeping up in price, but increase in leaps and bounds. I'm going go out on a limb and say this 911 may sell for high 30's.

The only drawback on this car for me is color. I don't know why, but Irish green just doesn't turn me on. Plus all his attempts to sell the pics of the 911 were all in a state of dissembled and in some sort of repair. He has improved and posted better pics, but for some reason still wants to use some of the same ones with tires off and the 911 on jack stands. I got a lesson form a friend in CA, pics sell, so don't go trying to sell your 911 with only pics of it disassembled. I think we call that "presentation." Another thing I've noticed is it helps to have what I call a "professional write up." Clear description and with good English and easily understood. It's really disheartening to see that many Americans can't even put a simple sentence together.

As more and more owners hold on to what they have and the market dries up, it will be interesting to see what a SWB 911 will sell for in 5 years. There are allot of very savvy and smart people on this board. Any speculation on prices?

Talkin' economics - to sell the commodity of which he himself seems to be aware, keeps rising steadily....he'd make a lot more money in the future if he removed the ad and just held on...!

    Trying to help him...

I'd love too, but my 67S has priority at this point in time. Despite a few problems if I had the time and space, I'd jump on this 911.
