Andrea, does the book give any specs on that distributor ... i.e. dwell settings on the points?

No, Marco, it's like PET... only spare parts numbers.

I bought this Catalog ONLY for the Marelli's parts ( because i think it's the only catalog where you can find it... with a design...) and now that i found another copy...

    Hi Andrea,

based upon the drawings of the Marelli distributor, are you intending to have them "remanufactured" in order to obtain a perfect replica of this original twin plug dizzy.
if so, please let me know , I'm very much interested in the rotor and in the cam supporting the 4 breakers points.

Regards from Bordeaux in France and all the best for NewYear celebration.

Mine's not NOS but my spare points and one of my caps is.

Got a spare rotor, by chance? I'd be interested in buying one if you have it.

FWIW, I actually set the point dwell on my distributor machine ... once I figured out a good system it wasn't too difficult, but the actual dwell numbers I got were nowhere near what I expected. I wish I wrote them down.

Marco - I don't know if it helps but, according to the Driver's Manual, the std dwell angle for the Marelli twin-plug distributor in the 911R (901/22) engine is 49-51 deg.

Timing is 28 deg BTDC at 8000rpm & points gap is 0.35mm (0.014 in).

That's what I came up with, Andy. I was just surprised that the dwell angle was so radical compared to a single-plug, single points distributor.

By chance do you have a copy of that driver's manual you'd like to share with me ... errr ... I mean ... us? Oh, and I have a much more upscale coffee shop should you come to visit again. No more gnat's piss...
