    price check 1972 911 s calipers alum

    i need to know the going rate on a near mint set of 72 S alum. calipers as i will be putting turbo brakes on my car and will sell them a fullset front and rear thanks gary w gwilliams1961@yahoo.com

    I would say fronts, depending on condition, etc about $650 for the pair, the rears I believe are not worth as much, as they are not aluminum (I think...)

    Mint would mean that they have perfect original factory coating on them. For that you could get $800.00 for the fronts. The rears if stock are not special at all as they are not aluminum.

    You would have to prove the pistons and bores are as nice as the outside. Most calipers are nasty on the inside after 40 years.

    Agree with davep - I have just sent my calipers from a low mileage E to the good brake guy in Seattle and while the rears are $89 each to rebuild, the aluminum "S" fronts with the crossover pipe will evidently ALWAYS need a new piston, and are more work overall so cost $189 each. So, I think that anyone paying top price would want to know that they have had new pistons etc. installed at some point.
