What is the best authenticity/ reference book for long hoods?

Any thoughts on that? I know Brett Johnson has an excellent guide for 356 cars, what is the best for early 911s? Showing year by year changes etc.

Thank you Karim - ordered both Peter Morgan's and 'the other' Johnson book! That should make for some good reading!

Also try "Porsche 911- '63 - '71 " by Brian Long. Not a reference type like Dr. Brett's book but lots of period color photos and lots of specifics. You are welcome to preview it next time you stop over Jules.

In my opinion this book is the best one.
It show year by year all the differences especially on early 911s with nice pictures!

Now I have to buy the Brett Johnson's one

IMO the best source for authenticity is this forum... I have the Johnson book and almost every book made about long hoods, and I still can't find what I'm looking for 90% of the time...
For instance I recently ordered a replacement piece from Stoddard for may battery tray area, it had a different shape of front pan next to the battery tray (had a bump, my car did not). Nothing about that in the books...
IMO this site is way more likely to yield the correct answer ;-)

A new edition of the Johnson would be beautiful with greater and color photos

    It hasn't been done yet...

Peter and Brett's book have not been updated with all the information that folks have learned about or discovered on this forum and elsewhere over the past 15 years.
