Roger Ballard Could Use Some Good Wishes

It seems that our community is in the process of losing some giants. Dave Aase and Ken Daugherty have passed away in the last few months, and now Roger Ballard is having a rough time.

Roger had a couple of salvage yards in the Salt Lake City area, and several of us from Indiana have purchased Porsche parts from him. He always priced his stuff fairly and conducted himself honorably. His ebay moniker is "911porscheparts."

Roger has experienced some rough health here lately. I felt like the community might want to know, and that maybe some of you would send him a greeting to brighten his day. Any of you who have done business with him and want to send along a note can shoot an e-mail to his daughter, Gretchen, at gretchenballard6@msn.com. Gretchen will see to it that he gets your message.

Some of these guys have forgotten more than I'll ever know. I'm not sure what will happen to our collective intellectual capital as they become less active in our community. Guys like Roger have helped the rest of us resurrect cars that would otherwise have been melted to become kitchen applicances.

Roger could use some cheer, right now. If you have the time, maybe you could drop him a note to cheer him up.

    Thank you, friends.
