Does anyone use 225-50-16 on all four wheels?

I am putting RS flares on my 1970T. I have been toying with going to 17" wheels just because of 16" tire availability. I decided to stay at 16" with a 1.25" spacer in the rear. It seems that the number of tire choice opens up significantly if I use the 225-50-16 size on all four corners. I was wondering if anyone else had done this and what the result was.
    Thanks

I have a pair of new ContiSportContact 245/45 16s that a friend had said he was buying... but that was weeks ago and I haven't heard a word. That's a better size for the rear. 225/50 16 in front will require rolling fender lips and perhaps trimming the fender flange behind the turn signal housing. It may also require 1.5 degrees or more negative camber. For me, the ideal mix is 205/55 front, 245/45 rear. There's also one maker of 265/45, which will work on 9s.

205 50 16's are the biggest that will fit inside the stock fenders using max camber. At least on my car and they are tight.

I run 225/45 - 15 hoosier all around for autocross, and it works very well; for high speed autocross or track, it's better to go to the 275/35 - 15 rears with 9" wheels.

We have build custom offset 16" wheels to fit the stock front fenders with 225/50s.
Most racers use the 951 8X16 wheel but you will still need limited suspension movement and turning stops with max camber.

Have you seen 951 7's with the 225-50-16?

No, 951 7X16s are the same offset as the 911 7X16s...just more brake clearance. Not a good choice. IMHO

I have them on the car now. I guess what you are saying is that that tire size is not a good choice for that wheel

    Cool

225 fronts on 7x16 911 Fuchs with no clearance issues and 245s on the rear. I think that 225s all around would be unbalanced and leave one wanting more rubber on the rear. It's about balancing lateral grip.

I run 225 (15" wheels) on all 4 corners of my 1975 911s, and the flares are stock. 6" wheels up front, and 7" on the rear. No issues during autocross.
