    rally suspensions

how would the rally cars suspensions be set up back in the day. how would they differ from a street car?

shocks? torsion bars? sway bars? settings? what about brands or manufactures they would use compared to others?

    just curious..

    Thanks,
    Harry

Harry is this a convoluted way to get around lowering your car?? I'm surprised Dave isn't already all over you about this.

haha, he always is. Just to spite him I might go higher

No, all kidding aside, it's getting lowered this spring. going to refresh the entire suspension. got new konis, sway bar and set up, doing my research on torsion bars, and then I am going to make a move on getting the bushings (elephant), ball joints and tie rods in the next few months.

In the thread about the new ohlin shocks, they mention that a lot of rally drivers are using them now in their vintage rally cars (waldegard, andersson etc). so it just makes me wonder about their set ups. what did they actually use back in the day? what torsion bars, shocks, sway bars etc? did they do anything special to it that was far and above beyond your average set up?

my car will be a street car, first and formost, so i would never take it to any extremes, but just curious about what was actually there.
