2.0N vs 2.2S Flywheel and Clutch

    RE: going from a 2.0N to a 2.2S
Is the flywheel, pressure plate and clutch disc; form, fit, weight and functionally the same? Or how do they differ?
    Thanks,
    50/50

No - the 2.0 litre models used a 215mm clutch & a flywheel with integral ring gear whereas the 2.2 litre models used a 225mm clutch & a flywheel with separate (bolt-on) ring gear.

With engine swaps you essentially need the flywheel/clutch which goes with the transmission you're using:

    901 transmission - 215mm clutch/flywheel

    911 & 915 transmissions - 225mm clutch/flywheel

    Thanks Andy
Don't the 70/71 2.2 models have the 901 Trans? I thought that the 915 series began in 72 with the 2.4 series. Is the weight/profile of the flywheel the same?
    Regards,
    Larry

Larry - the '70/'71 models had the '911' version of the 901 transmission with a 'pull' type (225mm) clutch.

The design/weight/profile of the 2 types of flywheel is quite different.
