Correct spring plate finish for 72S?

I am in the process of restoring my Italian delivery 1972S Targa. Can anyone tell me if the spring plates and caps were cad plated or black? My 72T coupe, which is a relatively unmolested car, has black spring plates and caps, and I know that black is correct up to 71, but I have conflicting info on what was correct for 72. Any input is appreciated. Thanks

Springs plates are black. If by caps you mean the bearing covers I've seen them both ways. I like them cad plated and that's the way they come new from Porsche if you buy them today.

Thanks. It appears that both were originally black on my car so that is the direction I will probably go.

These are originally painted semi-gloss black in the factory. I notice many restorers having these cad-plated (or yellow zinc) which is incorrect if you are restoring for originality.
