    65 aluminum case and...

I am behind on three engine builds. I have a 65 case 903900 type 901-01 number 3821 that has been modified for a short stroke large bore MFI race engine...(larger spigots, MFI platform etc). I am not going to build this anytime soon. I have accumulated most of the parts to build the engine...S-RS MFI pump, cams, TBs and stacks, 66mm crank and rods etc. Wondering given the early case if I am better off to use a later less valuable "more robust" case, and try to find someone needing an early case to match a vin...to help them out. This is not meant to be a price check. Thoughts?

Just my opinion, but the attraction in such an engine is the more robust nature of the early aluminum case in preference to the "moving" mag cases (even the 7R)

Then again, if you own the original chassis the engine belongs to, you'll want it bad

Just a note to say that 903900 is only 10 from the last of the 901/01 series, 903910. The build # helps me establish the end build # of type 901/01 and the start of type 901/05 907001 to a range of about 9. The range is complicated due to the 7 901/20 engines built between 903900 and 907041.

    engines

Not necessarly so. I have two 4-cam 356 engines that belong to two separate Speedsters. Both cars have a 4-cam engine in it. One lives in the Carolians, one in Italy. I contacted both owners, never got into prices, neither one cares?
