As far as i know, the mushroom shaped one did not have a pattern (at least i have never seen one with a pattern)

No shift pattern. these are still available new from several sources for $35. Is it OK to mention where, or will I get excommunicated?

Remeber the originals had a dimple in the center of the knob. The repo's that I have seen are missing this.

this is true for the first generation repros (dating back to the 80s ?) the more current crop has a
crude dimple, not a clean "machined" cut as the period produced originals.
